Anil Rachakonda, the head of developer relations at Project Ara, told about $100K prize challenge at the second Ara modules dev con.

This challenge is an incentive program for developers which is initiated by Google ATAP team to promote Project Ara among developers.

The challenge criteria for new modules are the following:
– Would a typical user use this module on a daily basis?
– Does the module enable something you can’t do today with a smartphone?
– Modules were evaluated on the novelty of the idea or approach.
– The module must be functional and will be evaluated on the degree to which it adheres to the MDK specifications.

As Anil Rachakonda said, Spiral 1 and Spiral 2 dev boards may be used. March 1st, 2015 is the deadline to apply for the prize challenge. Video of the functional module must be submitted before April 15th, 2015. On May 1st, 2015 the winners will be announced.
